Everyone has spiritual needs. A spiritual need is anything necessary to establish and/or maintain a dynamic personal relationship with God. The Lord created us to live in relationship with himself. He tells us through the prophet Jeremiah, "You will seek Me and find Me when you search for me with all your heart. I will be found by you..." (Jeremiah 29: 13-14).
Illness and crisis often magnify the need to search for God. However, crisis can also make it difficult to pray and to hear God's voice. Nurses can be a vital link in a person's relationship with God. Research shows that patients who receive appropriate spiritual care heal faster and adjust to physical limitations more readily. Responsible spiritual care involves putting people in touch with God through a variety of techniques including prayer, reading the Bible and study of the Holy Scriptures.
The following section provides a list of Scriptures which focus on healing and health. These Scriptures are categorized by a variety of medical conditions to aid your search efforts.
We should keep in mind that God's word is alive and full of revelation for each child of God.
The following list does not include every healing scripture from the Bible, however we would be glad to consider adding some of your favorites.

EMOTIONAL, MENTAL, BEHAVIORAL
“I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness (Isaiah 42: 6 & 7)
“THEN Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee...” “ The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” (Luke 4:14, 18)

The LORD will keep you free from every disease. He will not inflict on you the horrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all who hate you. (Deuteronomy 7:15)
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover”. “Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases”. (Luke 9:1)

BRAIN – NERVOUS SYSTEM
“They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes. When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an evil spirit came from the tombs to meet him. This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him any more, not even with a chain. For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones:. When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of Him. He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won’t torture me?” For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you evil spirit?” (Mark 5:1-8)

HEART – CIRCULATORY
(Dropsy, Hemorrhage, Fluid Accumulation, Edema, Heart Failure)
A large crowd followed and pressed around him. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed." Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering
(Mark 5:24).
The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He that sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised… (Luke 4:18).
“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength: (Isaiah 40:29)
And behold [just] in front of Him there was a man who had dropsy. And Jesus asked the lawyers and the Pharisees, Is it lawful and right to cure on the Sabbath or not? But they kept silent. Then He took hold [of the man] and cured him and sent him away (Luke 14:2-4)

REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
“So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in our land; I will fulfill the number of your days” (Exodus 23:25).
“He also brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none feeble among His tribes” (Psalm 105:37).
“He will love you and bless you and increase your numbers. He will bless the fruit of your womb, the crops of your land—your grain, new wine and oil—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks in the land that he swore to your forefathers to give you. You will be blessed more that any other people; none of our men or women will be childless, nor any of your livestock without young” (Deuteronomy 7:14).
DERMATOLOGY -- SKIN
Leprosy and Other Chronic Conditions of the Skin
When he came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “LORD, if you are willing, you can make me clean”. Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cured of his leprosy. Jesus said to him, “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.” (Matthew 8:2)
A man with leprosy came to Him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean”. Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing”, he said. “Be clean!” Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured. (Mark 42:11)
“Hope thou in GOD: for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance, and my GOD” (Psalms 42:11)
Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As He was going into a village, ten med who had leprosy met Him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, master, have pity on us?” When He saw them, He said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests”. And as they went, they were cleansed. One of them, when He saw He was healed, came back, praising GOD in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked Him—and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to GOD except this foreigner?” The he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well”. (Luke 17:11-19)
“For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds says the LORD. (Jeremiah 30:17)

“My son, attend to my words; inline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are alive unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh” (Proverbs 4:20-22)
CONTAGIOIUS DISEASE – OUTBREAKS, GROUPS, MULTITUDES
“If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your GOD and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought None the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you” (Exodus 15:26)
“And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with not of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you” (Deuteronomy 7:15)

TERMINAL DIAGNOSIS – DEATH, DYING, DEAD
“He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” (Psalm 107:20).
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).
When Jesus entered the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd, he said, “Go away. The girl is not dead but asleep”. But they laughed at him. After the crowd had been put outside, He went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up. News of this spread through all that region (Matthew 8:23).
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2).
GRIEF AND BEREAVEMENT
“Surely he hath born our griefs, and carried our sorrows” (Isaiah 53:4).
KIDNEY – URINARY SYSTEM
“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee” (Isaiah 43:2).
“Save me, O GOD, for the waters have come up to my neck” (Psalm 69:1).
LUNGS – RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
“The GOD who made the world and everything in it is the LORD of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He himself gives all men life and breath and everything else” (Acts 17:45-25).
SENSORY – VISION, HEARING, TASTE, SMELL, TOUCH
“The Spirit of the LORD is on me, because HE has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed (Luke 4:18).
…the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, LORD”, Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you”. And their eyes were opened (Matthew 9:28).
TINITIS – HEARING LOSS
While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: "A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up. Some fell on rock, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown."
When he said this, He called out, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear" (Luke 8:42).
"Surely he will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence” (Psalms 91:3).
