Description
The Health Ministries Cabinet (HMC) consist of six members appointed from the congregation and two at large members. Acceptance of the position is voluntary and a term is considered to be two years. The cabinet consists of both lay persons and professionals who are willing to provide input, guidance and support to the Parish Nurse and The Gate Called Beautiful. The Pastor is considered an Ex-Officio member of the Cabinet and attends meetings ad hoc.
Purpose
The HMC provides an Avenue for Dialogue and Support for The Gate Called Beautiful.
The HMC can be considered the brain and eyes behind The Gate Called Beautiful. The Cabinet is committed to the concept of congregational health and wellness in all of its various forms including physical health, mental health, emotional health, relational health, financial health and spiritual health. The HMC is capable of viewing members of the congregation as being wondrously fashioned by God and possessing the complex aspects of body, mind and spirit.
VARIOUS ROLES of the HEALTH MINISTRIES CABINET
Supports the Parish Nurse Ministry and The Gate Called Beautiful through intercession and prayer with special petition asking for God’s guidance and blessing over the Health Ministries and participating nurses.
Possesses the health and wellness vision for the future at Family Faith Center.
Represents various groups within the congregation such as married & single adults, youth, seniors, homemakers, business persons, retirees, and health professionals.

Provides awareness of health issues which are currently impacting the congregation and community.
Maintains awareness of the various aspects of the Parish Nurse Ministry and The Gate Called Beautiful.
Communicates the concept of the Parish Nurse Ministry to the congregation through various methods including bulletin inserts and conversations with church members.
Promotes visibility of the Parish Nurse Ministry and The Gate Called Beautiful.
Reviews the mission and vision statements for The Gate Called Beautiful and makes revisions when necessary.
Establishes long and short term goals for The Gate Called Beautiful.
Conducts ongoing assessment of the Health Ministries to determine what needs are currently being met, what additional health needs of the congregation should be considered and what resources are available for the Health Ministry to utilize in meeting congregational needs.
Organizes special services to validate the Parish Nurse Ministry and The Gate Called Beautiful to raise awareness within the congregation regarding the importance of the ministry.
