Health and Healing Class is Held at 9:30 every Sunday Morning in the Annex Building.
What is the purpose of Healing Services?

The Purpose is to provide a Designated Service Which focuses on Healing.
The focus is specifically on Prayer for healing.  This service is not a worship or praise service, although there well be time for both praise and worship.  Likewise, this is not a Service of Celebration.  Celebration and praise and worship are available during Sunday services.  Having a designated healing service allows other services to focus on various aspects of Christian life including family, faith and finance as well at the message of salvation.

During the Healing Service:
We will learn about God’s Healing Power.
We will submit prayer request.
We will pray for one another.
We will announce praise reports.
We will lay hands on the sick.
We will stand in the gap for others.
We will exercise the gifts of the spirit.
It is our desire that the healing service will be under the direction of the Holy Spirit.

How does one prepare for the Healing Service?

Prayer is the most important aspect of preparation for the Healing Service.  Please pray as Jesus taught us to pray in the Holy Scriptures.  Also pray for the Holy Spirit to direct the Service.  If you have time please also review the prayer list which are also found on this site.  If you need direction in prayer the Centering Prayer and Lectio Divina, both found below, may get you started in prayer and intercession.  Then your prayer muscle will be ready for the service.

CENTERING PRAYER

Choose a sacred word as a symbol of your intention to consent to God’s presence within.  You may want to choose your word during a brief period of prayer asking the Holy Spirit to inspire you.  Start with words such as
Lord, Jesus, Father or God.
Sit comfortably with your eyes closed, silently introduce the sacred word.
When you become aware of thoughts, return, ever-so-gently to your word.
At the end of the prayer period, remain in silence with eyes closed for a couple of minutes.
Await Gods direction for you.

LECTIO DIVINA

A type of meditative reading, which is a reflective pondering of the word of God that aims at giving an awareness of God’s presence, an immersion of life in the mystery of God’s activity as revealed in sacred history.
First one slowly reads a passage in the Scriptures.
Once we find a word or a passage in the Scriptures which speaks to us in a personal way, we then take it and think about it.
Next we pray in dialogue with God, and as offering to ourselves to God in ways we may not have thought of before.
Finally, we sit in silence for a few minutes and wait on God to reveal his direction to us.
